Latin America is today the fastest-growing iGaming region globally. With over 650 million inhabitants, increasing mobile penetration, and a deeply rooted culture towards sports and entertainment, the market presents unique opportunities for operators who position themselves correctly.

In 2026, the LATAM regulatory map is more complex but also more mature than ever. Brazil has just opened its market, Colombia consolidates its leadership, Mexico remains the great untapped potential, and Argentina advances at the pace of each province.

๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท Brazil โ€” The giant opening its doors

Brazil is undoubtedly the most important iGaming story in LATAM in 2025-2026. After years of legislative debate, the market was regulated with Law 14,790/2023, and the licensing process is active under the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), formerly SEAE, under the Ministry of Finance.

โšก Key opportunity: The online casino market in Brazil is not yet fully regulated in 2026. Operators positioning themselves now in sports betting can expand to casino when the regulatory framework is completed.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด Colombia โ€” The LATAM benchmark

Colombia is the most mature and predictable market in the region. Coljuegos has managed licenses since 2016 with notable regulatory stability. More than 20 international operators are actively operating, including names like Betplay (Codere), Rivalo, Rushbet, and Bet365.

๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ Mexico โ€” The great untapped potential

Mexico is the second largest market in LATAM with 130 million inhabitants, but its licensing process remains one of the most complex in the region. Licenses are managed by the Secretariat of the Interior (SEGOB) under a 2004 regulation that also applies to online gambling.

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท Argentina โ€” Fragmented regulation by provinces

Argentina moves forward with a decentralized model: each province has its own regulatory framework. Buenos Aires and Cรณrdoba are the most advanced, while the federal government is working on a national framework that has not yet fully materialized in 2026.
